First Alert Forecast: Heat Warnings, Advisories In Effect Through Thursday

NBC 7's team of meteorologists provides the most accurate 10-day forecast in San Diego. Here's what you need to know about today's weather

NBC Universal, Inc.

The heat wave is underway, but you may not know it in some parts of San Diego. We are starting the morning with mostly clear skies, but pockets of fog have filled in along the coast.

EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNINGS will continue for the inland valleys and desert regions through 8 p.m. Thursday.

A HEAT ADVISORY will also continue for the mountain communities through 8 p.m. Thursday.

For today’s Wild Card game, daytime highs over downtown will be close to 80 degrees. By first pitch, temperatures will be right around the upper 70s.

Yesterday we had a few temperature records, but it’s worth noting that many of our valley, mountain, and desert areas could have record-warm overnight lows. We’ll keep an eye on this.

While these heat advisories/warnings are set to expire Thursday night, we’re still looking at a warm weekend.

The inland valleys will stay in the mid-90s range, and the mountains will also be close to the low 90s. Meantime, the desert region will have triple-digit temps up to 110 through early next week.

The coast will continue to be the area in the county to seek relief from the heat this weekend as daytime highs will be around the low to mid-70s.

Monday

  • Coast: Some a.m. fog, upper 60s to near 80 (downtown)
  • Inland: mostly sunny - mid 90s to low 100s
  • Mountains: sunny - upper 80s to low 90s
  • Deserts: sunny - highs around 107
