We could be in for another gray day on Thursday. The marine layer will deepen up enough overnight that we could see some patchy drizzle before morning. And then, we'll see mostly cloudy skies and cool temperatures throughout the day. Inland communities will be about ten degrees below normal, which could end up being the coolest day of this week.
A low-pressure system from the northwest will form a closed low on Thursday, which could produce light rain for San Diego County. Itβs possible there could be a few showers in the afternoon near the coast/valleys, but the best rain chances will be late Thursday through early Friday morning. Β We shouldn't expect much rain out of this system.
As the low moves southeast, gusty 30 mph westerly winds will develop Thursday night through Friday morning for our mountains and deserts.
Dry conditions are in the forecast Friday as dewpoints lower. Mild winds are expected over the mountains and deserts through the weekend but areas like Campo could have easterly wind gusts near 20 mph Saturday. So, fire danger will be elevated.
