Skies will be mostly cloudy throughout the morning commute ahead of some gradual afternoon clearing. Morning temperatures will be from the 40s and 50s, with a few outliers across the deep interior from the 30s.

This afternoon there will be a mix of clouds and sunshine with mild temperatures. Mild westerly winds are in the forecast for Monday before they shift offshore on Tuesday.

Our typical wind-prone areas will feel these easterly winds the most: Ramona, Campo, Pine Valley, and Alpine.  By Tuesday afternoon, winds over these areas will gust from at least 20mph, increasing overnight between midnight and 10 a.m. Wednesday, wind gusts should be strongest from 30mph with the potential for gusts to reach 40mph, which will trail and taper into Thursday morning.

During this time, humidity levels will drop to about 15-20%. This event isn’t as strong as what we had last week, but the elevated fire risk will be there.

Wednesday looks to be the warmest day of the week, with peak temperatures near the coast in the mid-70s and low 80s over our valleys.

The winds will subside Thursday, but temperatures won't cool back down until the weekend as a trough of low pressures moves into the Pacific Northwest. The cool down will welcome the Winter Solstice happening Saturday at 1:20 a.m.

MONDAY

  • Coast: Gradual Clearing - Low to mid-60s
  • Valleys: Mostly Sunny – Low to mid-70s
  • Mountains: Mostly sunny - low to upper 60s
  • Desert: Mostly sunny - mid- 70s
