The deepening marine layer makes for a cloudy morning for our coast and valleys. Like yesterday, the clouds will be stubborn enough to clear at the coast, with better chances for afternoon sun over the valleys.
This is a trend we will continue to see through Thursday.
Temperatures are also going to be a couple of degrees cooler today. A low-pressure system from the northwest will form a closed low on Thursday, which could produce light rain for San Diego County. Itβs possible there could be a few showers in the afternoon near the coast/valleys, but the best rain chances will be late Thursday through early Friday morning. Β
As the low moves southeast, gusty 30 mph westerly winds will develop Thursday night through Friday morning for our mountains and deserts.

Dry conditions are in the forecast Friday as dewpoints lower. Mild winds are expected over the mountains and deserts through the weekend but areas like Campo could have easterly wind gusts near 20 mph Saturday.
A slow warming trend will begin over the weekend that will carry into next week.
