Tonight, into Saturday morning, expect pockets of dense fog lowering visibility down to 1/4 of a mile or less along the coastal communities. Some patchy fog might make it into portions of our western valleys right around the I-15. Take it easy on the roads and allow yourself extra time.
This weekend is expected to be pleasant across our region, with slightly cooler daytime highs, high-level clouds, and a deeper marine layer. Coastal temperatures will be seasonal averaging in the mid to low 60s, while inland valleys, mountains, and deserts will experience unseasonably warm temperatures.

A High Surf Advisory will be in effect from Saturday night through Wednesday morning due to large breaking waves ranging from 6 to 10 feet and some reaching up to 13 feet. There will also be a high risk of strong rip currents, making it dangerous for both surfers and swimmers. This powerful surf could cause minor flooding in low-lying areas along the beach, boardwalks and like parking lots.
Temperatures will rise slightly on Monday, but a cold front sweeping across Southern California on Christmas Eve will cause them to drop again on Tuesday. This front may bring light rain showers and gusty winds.
Weather
It looks like the rain will be light at this point with about a 20 to 30% chance to see a 0.10 to 0.25". The system should be quick moving, leaving behind dry weather for Christmas Day. Dry weather will prevail towards the end of the Holiday week.
