A storm system out of Alaska will dive south this evening and overnight bringing a chance for light showers through Friday, and possibly lingering into Saturday.
We aren't expecting much more than a couple tenths of an inch of rain most places, but this is a cold storm that could also drop some light snow on San Diego's mountains by late Friday or early Saturday. The snow level could drop down to between 4,000 and 5,000 feet.
Daytime highs will be significantly cooler with temperatures dropping 10 to 20 degrees from Thursday to Friday. San Diego's mountains will see the biggest drop with high temperatures running 20 to 30 degrees below normal. Gusty winds will make it feel even colder.
