Dry air with light winds and clear skies continues to make a for a chilly start to the morning. As of 4 a.m., Ramona was at 31 degrees. Morning lows over the valleys will range from the mid-30s to the upper 40s for the morning commute. At the coast, we’ll have upper 40s to the low 50s.

It is still very dry out with dewpoint temperatures close to 3 degrees over portions of our deeper valleys. If lows are around freezing frost could develop. This afternoon will be mostly sunny. The coast will have a mix of clouds of sun and clouds and temperatures will be a bit cooler there today.

Humidity levels will still be around 10-20% this afternoon for the valleys and mountains, so again, very dry conditions for today.

That dry air is on its way out for the weekend. A powerful storm, tapping into an atmospheric river is bringing very heavy snow to the northern part of the state. That storm will begin to drop south on Friday, but lose most of its steam along the way.

We’re still on track for some cool and cloudy weather this weekend but rainfall potential has backed off. Not everyone will likely see rain from this next system and the amounts will be pretty light and around 0.01''-.10''. Rain chances remain for Saturday night through early Sunday, and then a second chance late Monday into Tuesday morning. Aside from the rain, we’ll have slightly cooler temperatures, cloudy skies, and breezy conditions over the deserts.

The rest of next week looks dry, including Thanksgiving Day.

FRIDAY

  • Coast: Mostly sunny, low to mid 60s
  • Valleys: Mostly sunny - low to mid 70s
  • Mountains: Mostly sunny, highs near 70
  • Desert: Mostly sunny - highs near 80
