San Diego weather: Mostly clear ahead of warm afternoon

NBC 7's team of meteorologists provides the most accurate 10-day forecast in San Diego. Here's what you need to know about today's weather.

NBCUniversal Media, LLC A daily video forecast from NBC 7's First Alert weather team.

We have patchy clouds and fog over the coast that will stick around most of the morning before mixing out ahead of the afternoon. Most of our morning temperatures will also be in the 50s making for a cool start to the day. At the coast, wave heights will build up to 5 ft. today with increased rip current risk. Today’s daytime highs will be very similar to yesterday's.

Daytime highs will start to slightly taper tomorrow, which we’ll see through the weekend. By Monday, a low-pressure system from our north will dig into the state’s interior which will bring temperatures 10-15 degrees below seasonal norms along with some gusty southwesterly/westerly winds. We are expecting max. temps over the mountains to be from the 50s and low 60s Monday/Tuesday. The inland valleys could also taper to the upper 60s by Tuesday as well.

WEDNESDAY

  • Coast: sunny - low to upper 70s
  • Valleys: sunny - low to upper 80s
  • Mountains: sunny - Near 80
  • Desert: sunny - mid to upper 90s
