After a day of incredibly strong Santa Ana winds for parts of the county, the winds finally subsided. Wind gusts up to 95mph blew through San Diego's mountains, foothills and inland valleys Tuesday morning.

A RED FLAG WARNING has expired. Despite its expiration, we will continue to have very dry air will stay in place. Relative humidity will be in the single digits once again Wednesday afternoon. So, fire danger will be elevated for another day.

There are more planned power outages and school closures for Wednesday. Find out more here.

The dry air and clear skies will lead to cold overnight lows, especially in areas where the winds have calmed down.

As we head into Thursday and Friday, onshore flow will strengthen, and the marine layer will deepen, especially during the night and morning. As a result, daytime highs will cool down. There is a slight chance for light showers on Thursday, but most moisture will pass by to our north.

King Tides are also set to return this weekend, Friday through Sunday.

  • Valleys: less windy, still dry - upper 60s to low 70s
