San Diego Weather: Light rain showers expected with much cooler temperatures and gusty winds

A storm system coming from the Gulf of Alaska will bring a big cool down for this week, gusty westerly winds for the mountains and deserts, big surf and a slight chance for light rain Monday night into Tuesday. The coldest day will be on Tuesday as the storm moves out quickly. Only expecting light rain showers with accumulations between a 0.10" to 025" of an inch.

Daytime highs for Monday will be 10 to 15 degrees cooler than Sunday with mostly cloudy skies. Breezy conditions across the coastal and valley communities increasing in the afternoon and evening from 15 to 25 mph. However, the strongest winds will be across the mountains and deserts.

A Wind Advisory will be in effect Monday morning through Tuesday morning for the mountains and deserts. Westerly winds will range from 25 to 35mph, with gusts of 45 to 60 mph.

A Beach Hazards Statement will be in effect for the beaches from Monday morning until Tuesday morning due to a high risk of rip currents and big surf up to 8 feet.

The rest of the week looks dry and cool. It'll make for a great day to dress up on Halloween with cool daytime highs and the evening will be cool crips for trick or treater around the county.
