NBCUniversal Media, LLC A daily video forecast from NBC 7's First Alert weather team.

Our fall heatwave continues through Monday with daytime highs averaging 10 to almost 20 degrees above normal. We could see another round of records in Ramona, Palomar, Lake Cuyamaca, and Borrego.

The brunt of the heat will be away from the coast. The marine layer will become shallower this weekend with the chance for a few more hours of partly cloudy skies, but the clouds will return by this evening with another round of low clouds and fog into Sunday morning.

The EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNINGS for the inland valleys and deserts will remain in place through Monday night. The same goes for the HEAT ADVISORY for the mountain communities.

The strong ridge of high pressure providing the heat wave will begin breaking down on Tuesday, temperatures will begin to drop gradually becoming more comfortable by next weekend.
