NBCUniversal Media, LLC A daily video forecast from NBC 7's First Alert weather team.

Santa Ana winds continue to weaken, but the dry air is sticking around. The calmer winds, clear skies and dry air are a perfect recipe for cold nights. Temperatures will drop down around the freezing mark for San Diego's mountains. Inland areas could get down into the upper 30s. And even coastal communities could get down into the 40s.

Winds will be much weaker for Friday. The RED FLAG WARNING for San Diego's mountains expires at 11am. Friday will be a less eventful day, with sunny skies and slightly below normal temperatures.

Veterans Day weekend is looking pleasant. Evenings will be chilly, but the days will be mostly sunny, dry, and less windy. We'll see slightly cooler temperatures early next week, an possibly a few more clouds. Other than that, we won't see any big changes over the next few days.

FRIDAY

  • Coast: sunny - low 70s
  • Valleys: sunny - mid to upper 70s
  • Mountains: RED FLAG expires, sunny, warmer - 60s
  • Desert: sunny, mid 70s
