There's a chance of light spotty rain showers and snow showers overnight tapering off by tomorrow morning. Any accumulation will be very light from trace amounts to only a tenth of an inch. Palomar Mountain and Mount Laguna may get a dusting of snow with only up to about an inch at best.
This weekend, daytime highs will be significantly cooler with temperatures dropping 10 to 20 degrees from Thursday to Friday. San Diego's mountains will see the biggest drop with high temperatures running 20 to 30 degrees below normal. Gusty winds will make it feel even colder.
Meantime, at the coast, a BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT will be in place through 10 a.m. Saturday a strong northwesterly swell will bring elevated wave heights and potential for coastal flooding. For more information on the best spots to check out tidepools during the lower-than-normal tides, click here.
