Dense fog along the coast and valleys, lowering visibility down to a quarter of a mile or less. Please drive safely.
Sunday will be a bit cooler, but overall, it’ll be a nice, mild day. The coast will only see partial clearing at best due to the stubborn marine layer, while areas further inland will turn sunny. Mountains and deserts will feel the onshore flow as the winds peak at around 30 to 35mph this afternoon and evening.

A Beach Hazards Statement is in effect until Sunday at 4 p.m. because of high surf and strong rip currents, creating dangerous conditions for swimmers and surfers.
Areas of patchy to dense fog will re-develop tonight into Monday morning, potentially impacting travel due to visibility concerns. Monday will be very similar to today with temperatures trending near seasonal for our valleys, while the coast stays cool and slightly below normal, east county will be mild for this time of the year with mid to upper 70s in the deserts.
Weather
Our next shift will happen for the end of the year with Santa Ana winds set develop Tuesday through Thursday. Our ridge of high pressure will settle over the Great Basin with weak easterly winds Monday night. The marine layer will become shallower, and temperatures will be on the rise.
The winds will trend weak to moderate, but we will monitor the changes and keep up to the latest. The combination of low humidity, warmer temperatures, and gusty winds will bring an increased risk of fire danger for New Year's Eve.
