After two days of record heat and well above normal temperatures, cooling will officially begin today along the coast and it will continue into the weekend.
A DENSE FOG ADVISORY is in effect through Friday at 10 a.m. for our coastal communities. Expect pockets of dense fog lowering visibility down to 1/4 of a mile or less. Take it easy on the roads and allow yourself extra time for the morning's commute.
A stronger onshore flow with a deepening marine layer into this weekend. Temperatures will average in the 60 near the coast, above average temperatures continue for inland valleys, mountains, and deserts.

Temperatures will bump up slightly on Monday, but expect them to drop as a trough arrives on Tuesday, Christmas Eve, with possible rain showers, and gusty winds.
It looks like the rain will be light at this point with about a 20 to 30% chance to see a 0.10 to 0.25". The system should be quick moving, leaving behind dry weather for Christmas Day. Dry weather will prevail towards the end of the Holiday week.
