Patchy dense fog has developed from the coast to the valleys this morning. Pockets of dense fog have settled in over Ramona and Fallbrook while other inland areas like El Cajon, Alpine, and Poway are starting to have more low-lying fog too.
The foggy skies will lift and mix out by this afternoon, making for a mostly sunny day. At the coast, gradual clearing is expected going into the afternoon. We can expect similar conditions tonight through tomorrow morning as well.
At the coast, high tides could result in minor coastal flooding this week, especially on Tuesday and Wednesday when tides peak near 7 feet.
Evening lows on New Yearโs Eve will be from the 40s for the valleys and 50s for the coast with partly cloudy skies. Winds will shift offshore over the mountains and valleys for areas like Julian, Pine Valley, Campo, Ramona, and Alpine. Winds could gust from 25 mph Tuesday night through Wednesday morning.

These gusty easterly/northeasterly winds will continue Wednesday afternoon through Wednesday night. In the meantime, humidity levels will drop from about 10-30% on Wednesday morning through the afternoon. The fire threat will be elevated due to the winds, low humidity, and warmer temperatures.
Daytime highs should be close to the mid-70s for the valleys on Wednesday and near the upper 70s by Thursday, which will likely be the warmest day of the week west of the mountains.
