San Diego to convert hotels to homeless housing
Another local hotel will become permanent affordable housing for the homeless. The San Diego Housing Commission is purchasing The Ramada Inn in the Midway District and an apartment complex in Ocean Beach to convert or rehabilitate 75 units in total. It’s all part of the “housing first” initiative to get people off the streets. NBC 7’s Jackie Crea spoke to people around town and to city leaders.
