If you’re one of the people returning a holiday gift, you’re not alone. The National Retail Federation is predicting that the return rate for the 2024 holidays will be 17% higher than it is annually, reports NBC 7’s Shandel Menezes.

After this season’s peak shopping days, retailers expect their return rate to be 17% higher, on average, than usual.

Despite the increase in business costs next year, this year retailers are expecting a little bump this holiday season. The National Retail Federation says people could spend close to 990 billion dollars nationwide. NBC7’s Adonis Albright has the details.

Some business owners are concerned that increased wait times at the border might impact sales this December.

The discount retailer will begin “going out of business” sales, or “GOB” sales, at its 963 remaining stores ahead of the closures.
