A brush fire in Poway forced people to evacuate their homes.  NBC 7’s Jeanette Quezada has more on the fight to get the flames under control and the homes threatened by the fire.

Some residents were evacuated after a brush fire ignited in the Poway neighborhood of San Diego on Saturday afternoon, according to fire officials.

The fire, which burned less than half an acre near the 7600 block of Hazard Center Drive, was first reported around 3:30 p.m.

There have been multiple fires at battery energy storage facilities in San Diego County recently, as well, including one in Otay Mesa
