Muslims around the world are celebrating the Eid al-Fitr holiday and marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

More than 100 meals were given out to disadvantaged community members during the month of Ramadan. People who attended the event, some of whom are refugees, told NBC 7 that this event couldn’t have come at a better time.

The Somali Family Service of San Diego said a total of 280 meals were distributed on Saturday. One hundreds families at the event went home with a meal, while the remaining boxes were set aside and delivered directly to people who are either disabled or elderly.
