The Poway Unified School District selected its next superintendent on Thursday, five months after firing Superintendent Marian Kim Phelps following an investigation into bullying claims.

By 2028, almost every school building within the Poway Unified School District will be in poor condition. But now, the plan to get money for repairs is being pushed back two years.

A former Mount Carmel High School teacher who pleaded guilty to committing sex acts on an underage female student was sentenced Wednesday to three years in state prison.

Amanda Marshall worked under former Poway Unified School District Superintendent Marian Phelps for four years. During that time, Marshall said Phelps tormented her so badly that she had to retire early.
