An audit of San Diego County homeless ness programs looks at funding and data collection, and finds some gaps in information tracking.

Federal officials say the United States saw an 18.1% increase in homelessness, a dramatic rise driven mostly by a lack of affordable housing as well as devastating natural disasters and a surge of migrants in several parts of the country.

The San Diego Rescue Mission will host a Christmas meal Saturday for San Diegans experiencing homelessness, living in unstable conditions or who are low-income.
