Several media organizations, including NBC 7, are asking a San Diego federal judge to release video depositions in connection with two lawsuits involving presidential candidate Donald Trump.
At a hearing Wednesday, Judge Gonzalo Curiel heard from all parties, but did not make a decision on the release.
The depositions are associated with two different lawsuits being heard in San Diego federal court. In the lawsuits, Trump University is accused of misleading students with unfulfilled promises.
Trump’s attorney argued in court that the video depositions would be "all over the news" if released. The clips would not only be seen by potential jurors in the trial scheduled for November but could be used to hurt Trump's presidential campaign, according to defense attorneys.
An attorney representing the media companies, including NBC 7, argued "video" in other high profile cases were made public and they resulted in "a fair trial."
Last month, transcripts of the depositions were released.
Judge Curiel did not say when he will issue his ruling on the release. All of the attorneys involved declined to comment.
In the past, Trump has denied allegations of fraud, regarding Trump University.
