A Bonsall couple who organized a national crime ring that stole millions from large retailers across the country, particularly cosmetic stores, were ordered by a San Diego judge Thursday to pay millions in restitution to Ulta and Sephora.

Two men were arrested on suspicion of DUI for their roles in a five-car pile-up on southbound Interstate 15 south of Old Highway 395 that killed one woman, authorities said.

Part of State Route 76 in Bonsall was shut down in both directions after a person was shot by a sheriff’s deputy on May 4, 2024.

Sheriff’s deputies shot at and arrested a suspect in Bonsall on Saturday, causing State Route 76 to be shut down in both directions for more than six hours.

Michelle Mack is accused of paying as many as 12 women for their travel expenses, as well as providing them with a list of retail stores across the country to target — including stores in 21 counties across California.

A woman who drove under the influence and crashed her car off Interstate 15 in Bonsall, killing her 5-year-old daughter and critically injuring her two toddlers, pleaded guilty Wednesday to several felony counts and was immediately sentenced to 18 years in state prison.

At least one person is dead after a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 15 near Bonsall Thursday night, officials said.

A brush fire started Friday afternoon along Interstate 15 near state Route 76.
