Los Lonely Boys are finally back on the road with a new full-length, "Revelations," and will be kicking it to you live on July 31 at Humphrey's By the Bay. This marks their first recording since guitarist/vocalist Henry Garza sustained injuries in Feb. 2013, in a dramatic fall from the stage, which led to a year-long recovery period.
"We nearly lost Henry, man, and that was a big change for us," the band's bassist/vocalist Jojo Garza says. "The whole experience was a wake-up call for us. It made us rethink every aspect of our lives and our careers, and it reminded us of what's really important to us."
The down-to-earth Chicano brother trio (well-known for their beloved Grammy-winning song, “Heaven") continue fostering their signature “Texican rock & roll” by working with new producers.
"We're always trying to broaden our horizons and advance musically, and that's something that we were very conscious of in making this record," Garza says. "We're always looking for new ways to communicate and reach people, so we experimented with a lot of different sounds and production approaches."
On"Revelations," the brothers also collaborated with an eclectic cast of co-writers including, alt-country icon Radney Foster; in-demand pop tunesmiths Matthew Gerrard and David Quinones; Black-Eyed Peas collaborators George Pajon Jr. and Keith Harris; and Raul Pacheco of Ozomatli.
