One week after John Moores expressed doubt he would sell the team, the San Diego Padres announced Moores is working with advisors to identify potential buyers.
A deal involving a new ownership group led by Jeff Moorad fell apart in January when the owners of Major League Baseball put off approving the sale.
In Tuesday's announcement, Moores said "Three years ago, I made the difficult decision to sell the club, and I didn’t expect to have to make that same decision again.”

Steve Greenberg of Allen & Company and John Moag of Moag & Company have been retained to help in the process of finding potential buyers for the team, according to an official release.
Jeff Moorad stepped down as Padres CEO on March 22. He was a prominent sports agent before becoming a minority owner first with the Arizona Diamondbacks, then with the Padres.
His group owned 49 percent of the Padres and was set to buy the remainder from Moores.
