Early 90s musical artifact Vanilla Ice recently told a UK newspaper that he dumped pop superstar Madonna for being too sexy.
While promoting his appearance on the reality series "Dancing on Ice" (think "Dancing with the Stars" meets the Ice Capades. In England), the hip hop punchline - real name Robert Van Winkle - opened up about his relationship with the Material Girl and how her controversial book "Sex" ended up quashing their budding romance.
Van Winkle, by his own admission, was initially intrigued by the older Madonna – she was 33 to his 24 when they began dating in 1991 – but eventually felt used and betrayed by her freewheeling sexuality.
“Going out with Madonna was exciting,” he told "News of the World". “She was older than me and a great lover. She’s still the oldest person I’ve ever been with, so that was an experience.”
“Then when the book came out I was so embarrassed and ashamed. It was a porno. She threw me in like I was a product off a shelf and I didn’t appreciate it. That was it and I ended it.”
Recently, actress Isabella Rossellini told "Out" magazine that she, too, regretted appearing in Madonna’s racy tome. No word on whether fellow Sex models Big Daddy Kane or Udo Kier share Rossellini’s sentiments, but we’ll keep you posted.
