A woman is facing a murder charge after she said she accidentally shot and killed her husband Monday night outside their Lemon Grove home, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.
Dispatchers received a 911 call at 5:55 p.m., from 26-year-old Gabriela Rose Shepherd, who said she had accidentally shot her husband in the 2500 block of Camino de las Palmas, Lt. Mike Arens said. The man, who was identified as 29-year-old Noah David Shepherd, was allegedly entering the back door of his home when the shooting took place.
He was located by deputies in the backyard, according to Lt. Tom Seiver of the San Diego County Sheriff's homicide unit.
Based on the investigation, Gabriela Shepherd was arrested for murder and booked into Las Colinas Detention and Reentry Facility, SDSO said.

While the circumstances of the shooting are under investigation, Seiver said he was confident that there was no continued risk to the public and that there were no suspects outstanding.
Details on what led up to the shooting were not immediately clear. The investigation is ongoing.
