A water main break early Sunday morning in a Southcrest neighborhood left 28 customers without water.
Residents first called police just before 3 a.m. on the 3000 block of Boston Avenue in the City of San Diego.
San Diego city water crews worked to repair the eight inch main break. Six people had to be evacuated after mud filled the front of their homes.
City engineers were on the scene for hours trying to determine what caused the break.
The leak was expected to be restored at 1 p.m.
