The San Diego County Sheriff's Department is searching for a man they considered to be armed and dangerous after he threatened his wife with a gun and prompted a SWAT standoff Saturday in Spring Valley.
Deputies received a call about a domestic violence incident in the 8900 block of Spring Place just before 4 p.m. The call stated the suspect, identified by police as Mario Sandoval, was in an argument with his wife and was not allowing her to leave when he pointed a gun at the victim and threatened to kill her. The victim was able to escape her home and contacted the police.
Deputies surrounded the home and made sure surrounding homes were evacuated. After several attempts to contact Sandoval, SWAT searched the home but he was not located.

Sheriff Deputies said Sandoval is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached by members of the public.
If anyone has any information on Sandoval's location, deputies are urging those to call 911 or the Sheriff's non-emergency line at (858) 565-5200.
Sheriff Deputies are continuing to investigate the incident.
