‘So Wonderful': Poway Post Office Named After Pearl Harbor Survivor Ray Chavez

A post office in Poway now bears the name of a WWII veteran who made a mark San Diego County and beyond: Ray Chavez. At the time of his death in 2018 — and at 106 years old — Chavez was the oldest survivor of the attack on Pearl Harbor.
