Thousands of residences in San Diego County were without power Monday afternoon amid a powerful storm system that is moving through the county.
By 5 a.m. Tuesday, 4,718 San Diego Gas & Electric customers were without power.
By midnight Wednesday, power had been restored to thousands and only about 82 customers were still without power.
At least more than 5,000 homes were impacted by the outages in the following areas at one point on Monday:

SDG&E is investigating the cause of the outages, according to its outage map website.

The outages impacting Logan Heights, University Heights, North Park, Normal Heights, La Jolla, Paradise Hills, Skyline and Bay Terraces have been confirmed to have been caused by the weather.
These outages come after heavy downpours due to a storm that has come through our county prompting flood and thunderstorm warnings.
