A pedestrian struck by a car Tuesday night in the Midway District died from his injuries, the San Diego Police Department confirmed.

SDPD first reported the victim was riding a scooter when he was hit by a car near the intersection of Midway Drive, Sports Arena Boulevard and West Point Loma Boulevard at around 7 p.m. The department later said the victim, a 65-year-old man, was crossing the intersection on foot when he was hit.

The driver, identified as a 62-year-old woman, who hit the man had a green light at the intersection, according to SDPD. She stayed at the scene and cooperated with police, SDPD said.

The pedestrian died at the scene.

No drug or alcohol appear to have been a factor in the crash, police said.
