San Diego's winter so far may put some in mind of an old New England saying: If you don't like the weather, wait a minute.
As the marine layer rolls back in Saturday night, it will bring patchy to dense fog from the coast to the valleys with areas of low visibility Sunday morning.
Sunday will be a mild day with a weak area of high pressure, allowing temperatures to go up to close to 15 degrees above normal.
Areas of dense fog are expected along the coastal mesas and in portions of the western valleys late tonight into Sun AM. A Beach Hazard will be in effect until Sunday at 4 p.m., due to elevated surf between 4 and 7 feet. Strong rip currents will make for dangerous swimming and surfing conditions.
Another storm for the Pacific Northwest will bring clouds, minor cooling and winds on late Sunday into Monday. No significant chances for rain, instead we will become drier and warmer for the new year with possible Santa Ana winds for Wednesday and Thursday.
New Year's Eve? The National Weather Service expects it to be mostly cloudy, that night with a low around 49, followed by a beautiful New Year's Day, when the highs may crest 70 degrees.

It's been a dry and mild December. The county will finish the month tied for its fifth driest since records began being kept in 1850. San Diego typically get most of its rain during the months of January and March.
