Cold Storm Sweeps San Diego County

The City of San Diego has released a list of sandbag locations in anticipation of the rain

Scattered showers fell along much of the coast Friday as a cold storm made its way ashore promising a wet evening commute.

Expect showers the first half of the day, with possibly heavier bands of rain and even some thunderstorms making their way inland Friday afternoon.

Quarry Road in Spring Valley has already been subject to flooding.

A wind advisory is in effect for the mountains and deserts until 5 p.m. Residents and drivers could see sustained winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 50 possible.

The snow level will drop to 4500' this afternoon, bringing likely snow showers to areas like Julian according to meteorologist Jodi Kodesh. Less than three inches is expected.

By Saturday, San Diego could see sunny skies as the storm is expected to move on quickly. Temperatures may be cool over the weekend with temperatures near freezing in the mountains overnight.
