A 22-year-old suspect wanted in connection with a homicide in Logan Heights was in custody early Monday, officials said.
Joseph Henry Garcia is accused of a homicide that occurred on the 3100 block of National Avenue around 7 p.m. Saturday night, police said.
Police responded to a call of a stabbing and a male down in a house's yard. When they arrived, they found 54-year-old Hermeneglido Parra who had been stabbed multiple times. He was later declared dead at the scene.
The preliminary investigation revealed that during holiday festivities, a fight started between Parra and a family member. Parra was stabbed multiple times and the suspect fled the scene in a car, which was later found in the South Bay.
Late Sunday, Garcia was arrested at the Otay Mesa Point of Entry, according to San Diego Police.
He's been booked into county jail on one charge of murder, officials said.
