Police are actively looking for two men after they say at least one shot was fired in the Costco parking lot in Mission Valley Tuesday night.
A security guard called the police to report shots fired, according to the San Diego Police Department.
A man appears to have been carrying a gun in his hand, a bag in the other, when he tripped and it accidentally went off, police said.
It's not yet clear whether the bullet struck him.

Moments later, another man--with a ponytail, driving a white Chevy Tahoe or Suburban--helped the man collect what fell out of the bag before they drove off together, according to police.
SDPD officers are actively searching for the suspects because a gun went off in public, posing a safety threat.
No customers at Costco were injured and police say it doesn't appear the man entered the store.
