An overturned semi-truck caught on fire and caused major traffic delays on Interstate 15 in Mira Mesa Thursday morning.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) said the driver was in the far right lane of southbound I-15, when for some reason, he swerved, and crashed into the HOV cement divider.
It happened just north of the Mira Mesa Boulevard exit Thursday about 4:20 a.m.
The truck was carrying furniture and other retail items. It did not hit any other vehicles on the highway.
The 39-year-old driver, who is from Rialto, was able to get out of the semi-truck cab. Paramedics treated him at the crash site for minor injuries.
Firefighters quickly put out the fire before it spread to the back of the semi-truck.
Some fuel did spill onto the highway.

Hazmat crews with the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department (SDFD) and Caltrans removed the truck and cleaned up the fuel and debris.
CHP officers are investigating the crash, and said the semi-truck driver is not suspected of driving under the influence.
According to the CHP, a San Diego Police Department (SDPD) officer first saw the crash, and reported it.
That officer was not involved in the incident.
