Local grocery stores across the county are opening their doors a bit earlier to give seniors, people with disabilities or shoppers with compromised immune systems their own time to pace the aisles and shop for essentials.
Northgate Market, a supermarket chain specializing in Hispanic grocery items, and Baron’s Market were some of the first grocery stores to offer senior hours. Since then more have followed suit.

Northgate is giving seniors 65 and older and people with disabilities an hour to themselves from 7-8 a.m. The market will remain open to the general public until 8 p.m. To find a location near you, click here.
Vons, Albertsons and Safeway are reserving Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7-9 a.m. to "vulnerable shoppers," a group that includes pregnant women, persons with compromised immune systems and senior citizens. To find a location near you, click here.

Costco's local stores announced special operating hours for members ages 60 or older. Hours will be 8-9 a.m., Monday through Friday.
Smart and Final said it is opening stores 30 minutes early, from 7:30- 8 a.m. to accommodate shoppers ages 65 years or older, customers with disabilities and pregnant women. To find a location near you, click here.
