Lyft offers discounted rides to polls on Election Day
Across the country, rideshare service Lyft is also offering discounted rideshare, bikeshare and even scooters to a vote center on Election Day.
How to get the Lyft discount code:
Get a Lyft Election Day ride discount code (50% off, up to $10 off) on Election Day with the code VOTE24 on or before Nov. 5. That code is only valid from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. in every time zone on Tuesday. It can be used on rideshare, bikeshare or a scooter ride.
As part of the 2024 Lyft Up Voting Access Program, the company is also providing free or heavily discounted ride codes to nonprofit partners in effort to get more voting access to communities that traditionally face barriers getting to the polls.
For the 2024 elections, Lyft added several new nonprofit partners. These partners are able to distribute ride codes to those within their networks they deem the most in need of transportation. Those partners include (but are not limited to):
- When We All Vote (WWAV)
- National Council of Negro Women (NCNW)
- Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA)
- National Council on Aging (NCOA)
- Asian and Pacific Islander American Vote (APIAVote)
- Hispanic Federation
- The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP)
“Every American citizen should be able to exercise their right to vote without worrying about the cost or difficulty of getting to the polls,” said David Risher, Lyft CEO. “Everyone — from a driver who's given a thousand rides to a rider who hasn’t taken her first one yet — deserves to have their voice heard at the polls. Our Voting Access Program is a great way Lyft can be a force for good.”
