Three people have been taken to the hospital after a three-car crash on south Interstate 805 near Murray Ridge Road, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) confirms.
The crash happened around 8:30 p.m. Saturday evening.
Traffic was a problem for hundreds of drivers who were waiting for all lanes to open up again.
What made this crash even more challenging for paramedics was that one of the drivers was trapped in the slow lane. Another was a few lanes over.
Having to manage traffic under these circumstances was a problem for CHP and for firefighters, but rescue units were able to get to the scene and take the victims to the hospital in less than 10 minutes.
Traffic was still backed up though, as officers cleared the scene.
