The body of a man wearing a wetsuit has been identified San Diego police confirmed.
Robert Eugene Jeckel, Jr.'s body washed ashore at Mission Beach early Friday, according to lifeguards.
The 52-year-old had no fixed residence SDPD said.
San Diego Fire-Rescue crews and San Diego Police were called to Ocean Front Walk at 4:55 a.m.
The original call reported a man under possible cardiac arrest but lifeguards told NBC 7 San Diego the man was dead when they arrived. They added he may have been dead for some time.
The driver of a beach-sweeping tractor said he called lifeguards after initially spotting the man on the sand.
There was no trauma to the body, according to San Diego Police.

He was pronounced dead at 5:08 a.m.
Investigators with the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office will work to determine the cause of death.
No other information was immediately available.
