An East County man convicted of attempted murder for planting a pipe bomb in his wife's vehicle was sentenced with 13 years to life on Tuesday.
Larry Hoagland, 50, was arrested in September 2010 for the attack on his wife, Connie.
She survived the explosion but almost lost her leg after spending more than a month at the UCSD Burn Center.
Last month, jurors convicted Hoagland of attempted premeditated murder and felony explosion of a destructive device with intent to murder.
