Man Pleads Guilty to Indecent Exposure in Carmel Valley

A man who exposed himself in front of a mother jogging with her 2-year-old in Carmel Valley must register as a sex offender according to the stipulations of a guilty plea, the City Attorney's Office announced Tuesday.

Jaysonron Anuran Muncal pleaded guilty following a 2017 incident in which he asked the jogger for directions from inside his SUV. When the jogger approached the window, she saw that Muncal was masturbating.

Muncal drove off however the woman captured an image of his car as he fled and posted it to the Nextdoor website. She also reported the incident to police.

The following day, Muncal drove up to another woman in the neighborhood and asked for directions. This time, the woman recognized the car from Nextdoor and called police. Muncal was then taken into custody.

His sentencing is scheduled for September 4. He faces three years formal probation. If he violates probation, he could face six months in jail.

He will also be required to register as a sex offender and get counseling, according to City Attorney Mara Elliott.
