Locals call for ban of price-fixing AI affecting San Diego housing

San Diego leaders and housing advocates say price-fixing software is making it harder for renters. Algorithms of AI-powered rent prices allow landlords to align their prices and avoid competition that would otherwise keep rents down, NBC 7’s Audra Stafford reports. Community leaders are calling on the San Diego City Council to create a city-wide ordinance banning this type of software.
