Monday Brings Frost, Winds

It will be sunny in San Diego Monday but it will be unusually cold

As you step out this morning remember to bundle up.

It may be sunny in San Diego Monday but it will be cold. Apparently, it will be unusually cold according to meteorologist Jodi Kodesh.

There is a frost advisory in effect for low-lying valleys until 8 a.m. Monday.

In La Mesa, a bank displayed the truth: 36 degrees around 2 a.m.

Some areas, inland areas, around Ramona saw temperatures well below freezing Sunday night.

The low, 24 degrees, set a new record beating out the 26 degrees the community saw in 2006.

There is also wind advisory in effect for the mountains and inland valleys from 10 a.m. Monday until 4 p.m. Tuesday.

There will be areas of northeast winds 20 to 30 mph developing Monday morning with gusts of up to 40 mph near the foothills. The winds will start to pick up out east and then peak overnight Monday.
