A Ferrari crashed into a power pole in Rancho Santa Fe overnight, knocking out power to nearby residents, and the driver was nowhere to be found.
The crash took down two power poles, a stop sign and other traffic signs along Avenida de Acacias near La Granada just after 10 p.m. Thursday. By 6 a.m. the next day, crews were still working to clear the scene.
When crews first arrived, they found the wreck but a driver could not be located.
Law enforcement officers searched the area for the driver by ground and by air and determined that the driver had not been ejected from the vehicle. By 6 a.m., the driver had still not been located.
The Ferrari was surrounded by live power lines, making it difficult for crews to respond quickly to the crash.
San Diego Gas & Electric crews worked through the night to restore the 40-foot power pole to get power back to customers. It was not clear how many were affected by the outage.
Avenida de Acacias was expected to be closed until 3 p.m. as SDG&E worked to restore power to the area.
