The rollout of the coronavirus vaccine continues in San Diego County. Here, we track when and where extra doses are available.
As of May 11, 2021, San Diego County public health officials said 1,270,808 San Diego County residents are fully vaccinated, or 63%. The county said 1,740,571 residents have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. The county's goal is to have 2,017,011 San Diego County residents vaccinated with at least one dose, so public health officials said they are 86.3% to meeting that goal.
The county has even added a walk-in system at 23 of their vaccination sites. That means no appointment is needed, but there are only a certain number of these doses a day. An appointment is still recommended. (NOTE: Partner-run superstations and non-county-run sites are not included).
Below, NBC 7 will be tracking where there is a surplus of vaccine appointments for those still searching for a shot.
