A man wanted in a shooting investigation escaped after leading law enforcement officers on a high-speed pursuit Tuesday in San Diego.
The man was behind the wheel of a four-door, white car with front-end damage, according to San Diego Police.
SDPD officers attempted to pull over the driver in the downtown area just before 6 a.m.
A pursuit began on 2nd Avenue near A Street and reached speeds up to 110 mph, police said. The driver led police along several highways and ended along northbound Interstate 15 in the Mira Mesa area.
Officers said they lost the driver near Mira Mesa Boulevard and Westview Parkway.
They say he may be armed with a handgun.
Officers initially attempted to stop the suspect as part of an investigation into a shooting in National City several days ago.
