Lakers star Kobe Bryant may have to pray for forgiveness from San Diego prosecutors.
The San Diego City Attorney’s office said they are reviewing Bryant’s case, which a member of a church in Carmel Valley recently filed against him. The parishioner claims that Bryant ripped a cell phone out of his hand, injuring his wrist.
Officers said Bryant was reportedly angered when the man tried to take a picture of him with his phone.
Police recently handed the case over to the city. The city attorney’s office could not comment further on the case, as they are still reviewing it.
At the time of the incident, Bryant’s lawyer said he was prepared to defend against the man who allegedly took his picture in church. Calls and emails requesting an updated statement were not immediately returned.
"Mr. Bryant is aware of the baseless allegations asserted against him, and is prepared to defend against them fully," Bryant lawyer Mark Campbell of Loeb & Loeb LLP said in a statement last month.
The church had no comment on the case.
